The Story

From One Room to a Studio of Twenty Thousand

  1. A studio opened in 2008

    Style Dance Crew Studio began in Shivamogga in 2008. By the 2024 Yuva Dasara citation it had completed sixteen years and trained upwards of twenty thousand students across every age group, from two-year-olds to adults.

  2. Dance as a way of teaching

    The citations credit the studio with free dance training for children, teaching of Indian cultural subjects, respect for parents, leadership quality, self-confidence, and the lesson of how to handle both winning and losing.

  3. Beyond the floor

    In 2017 he sang “ಹೇ ಮಗ ಇದು ಶಿವಮೊಗ್ಗ” for Shivamogga's Ganeshotsava, a song written for the region's landscape and its young people. The 2024 citation also records him working as an assistant director in Kannada cinema.

Legacy

A Studio That Outgrew One Person

What began as one dance class in 2008 now runs six batches — Kids, Sub Juniors, Juniors, Seniors, Professional Gymnastics and a Certification batch — taught by a team of choreographers rather than a single instructor.

The 2024 citation singles out what the studio teaches beyond choreography: cultural knowledge, respect for parents, leadership, self-confidence, and how to handle both winning and losing.
